Southern Bowman Age 57, a resident of Wilmington, DE for the past 5 years, formerly 20-year resident of Upper Chichester, PA, died September 25, 2001 at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield, PA. Carol was born in Chester, PA, a graduate of Ridley High School and an Avon sales representative. She was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Wilmington, DE and devoted to her home and family.

Carol was a ray of light and hope to many people. She touched so many lives in her time that no one will ever be able to replace love she has given. She will be terribly missed by all those around her and loved forever. Carol loved life, family, friends and babies. She battled through courageous fights time and time again, but still came out on top.

this time it seems God needed her home so we send her to you Lord in our prayers and pray you keep her loved and safe. Mom, you will be missed every day of our lives. Thank you for loving all of us. Carney On September 23, 2001, John F. Carney, age 89, departed this life at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware. Born in Manchester, England on August 12, 1912, he came by ship to America with his parents, Joseph and Anastasia Carney. After his education, he worked A Stores and Sun Oil before his stint as a Merchant Marine and his army service in World War Il.

He then led a distinguished career in the auto industry working for General Motors and Chrysler, and his passion for motor vehicles never wavered. He was preceded in death in 1981 by his wife, Emma B. Carney. He leaves behind a stepdaughter, Janice C. Geddes and her husband, William of Chadds Ford, PA; and three grandchildren, R.

Paul Peddrick and his wife, Monica and Wendy A. Peddrick of Washington, DC; and Elizabeth C. Geddes of Chadds Ford, PA; and his surviving sister, Juana Dabkowski of Aston, PA. Mrs. Gaskins was a supervisor with the New Castle County Crossing Guards, retiring in 1985 after 25 years of service.

She was a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge, Women of the Moose Chapter and she enjoyed bowling and bartending. Mrs. Gaskins' husband, Alpheus Gaskins, died in 1975. She was also preceded death by a son, Stanley J. Gaskins, and her parents, Olaf and Florence Garthe.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Colleen Y. Morgan and her husband, David, of New Castle; and Patricia C. Blythe and her husband, Don E. of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Janice R. Gaskins of New Castle; brother, Kenneth D.

Hammond was a secretary to the CEO of the Delaware Steel Corp. She retired after 40 years. She was past president of the Brandywine Business Professional Women's Club and was also past president of the Delaware Business Professional Women's Club, where she was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Her husband, James R. Hammond died in 1980.

Arrangements CONGO FUNERAL HOME Janice P. Keenan Of Easton, MD died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at William Hill Manor in Easton. She was 73. Born February 15, 1928 in Easton to the late James H. and Minnie Bradshaw Price, she attended nurses training at the Wilmington Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, DE after graduating from Easton High School in 1945.

In 1951 she entered the United States Army Nurses Corps. During the Korean Conflict, she was stationed in Japan, where she was involved with transporting and caring for wounded soldiers from the field hospitals in Korea to the military hospitals in Japan. Following her honorable discharge from active duty in 1953, she returned to Easton. In 1957 she married Ralph S. Keenan, Jr.

and they made their home in Wilmington, DE. After working as a nurse at various locations, Janice took a position with the State of Delaware at the Douglas Elementary School in Wilmington, where she specialized in the care of handicapped children. In 1975, she attended West Chester State College in West Chester, PA, where she received a BS degree in nursing. In 1990 she retired after 27 years of service. In 1993, she moved to Easton, MD.

A member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, she was also a member of the EE Streets VFW Post of Easton and the Post AmeriLegion. CaMrs: Keenan is survived by a sister, Virginia Alton of Easton, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband who died in 1986, Janice was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey J. Keenan who died in 1997.

Born in Salisbury, he was the son of Herman Howard Kenney of Fruitland and Mary Louise Johnson and his stepfather, Alan M. Johnson of Bear, DE. Mr. Kenney worked for Super for 10 years in Salisbury, Wilmington and Bear. He graduated for Jameson M.

Bennett Senior High in 1987. He graduated from Wor-Wic Community College. He was a collector of comic books, an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed movies and music. His wife, Dana S. Kenney of Newark; a grandmother, Emma R.

He retired in 1989 after 35 years of service. Jack was a the Seaford Wesleyan Church "The a and a WWII Army veteran who served in Europe and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. Lubina was a methods engineer for Grumman Aerospace, in Bethpage, NY before retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland parish, and a trustee of Knights of Columbus, St. David's Council as well as a color guard in Cardinal Gibbons Assembly. Mr.

Lubina served nobly as a chief metalsmith in the US Navy during World War II. He entered military service July 20, 1942 and was assigned to the USS AFD No. 8 Floating Drydock. Mr. Lubina served honorably in the South Pacific Theatre, where his unit repaired ships in the Admiralty Islands, Leyte and Samar.

For his meritorious service, he was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal, and was honorably discharged January, He 17, is 1946. survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Irene K.
